This is the little hooded jacket with a frog closure I made for the
new grandbaby. It is really cute! The pattern came from the book
"Simple Crochet for Cherished Babies" by Jane Davis. I have a problem
with her patterns because it is like she goes along giving
instructions and all of a sudden she no longer says how many stitches
are suppose to be in the row even though you are increasing or
decreasing. And she does those things in each pattern...it is as if
she thinks you have ESP. However, that being said, her patterns are
gorgeous. Some of the most beautiful and ingenious clothes I have
ever seen for children in crochet. Cute toys, too.

My new winter hat
If this looks a lot like Sissy's hat, you are right! I used the same
yarns...however, made the hat a little more like Bro's with a basket
weave stitch in the middle...post stitches. I had to vary it slightly
from the pattern given in the book in that they turned at the end, and
I wanted to go round and round. This relief stitch has turned out to
be a great one for caps as it has the give and take of knitting. Love
it!

Eileen's new Drops yarn, Garn Studio designed hat
Rolled Brim Casual Hat
Rolls up a lot or Rolls up a little!
Rolls up in back, pulls out in front!
Hat is Garn Studio pattern 103 in Alaska wool by Drops (same people). I buy the yarn from Rams Wool in Canada, although it is from Norway - 50 grams each skein. It took about four skeins, 5 mm hook. Great texture and easy to crochet.
I think that the hat is cute, but not necessarily on me (looked better on the model)! I gave it to my sister-in-law. It's a bit bigger than I would have liked. I suppose that's the way it is suppose to fit. All in all, because it is nearly all single crochet except for the "baubles", it took more time to make that I had expected, but still easy. There is always a bright spot!
I'm starting a sweater for our granddaughter for her birthday in March. A Mauve/Lavender color...one of those dusty kind. Very beautiful.
